How to apply
To apply for a vacancy, click on 'Apply Now'. You will be taken through to the candidate homepage. If you have previously applied for a vacancy and have created a Candidate Homepage, enter your user ID and password.
If you previously created a profile on Lancashire County Online, you will need to register on the Lancashire County Council portal to apply for any future jobs.
If you are applying online for the first time, it is recommended that you can create a candidate homepage by entering the details as required. Alternatively, you can skip the login and go straight to the application form. Please be aware that if you go straight to the application form and do not create a candidate homepage, you will not be able to access your application once it has been submitted.
If you have a disability which means you are unable to fill in the online form, please contact us on 01772 535355 so we can make alternative arrangements for you.
The online application form consists of three parts: personal information, questionnaire 1 and questionnaire 2. The personal information and questionnaire 1 parts are required steps and therefore need to be completed so your application can be submitted. Also, these parts will contain required fields which are highlighted by *. You are able to save your application at any stage if you are applying via your candidate homepage; however you need to ensure that all required fields are completed prior to saving.
Questionnaire 2 is optional as it relates to Equal Opportunities data. The information you provide on this form will assist us in monitoring the effects of our equal opportunities policy in recruitment and selection and will help us to develop and improve.
Your application is your chance to sell your skills and experience as well as demonstrating how you are right for the post. It will be assessed according to how you meet the Person Specification for the role, so it is critical that you provide adequate detail.
Also, take time to check your application to ensure that all sections have been completed and there are no spelling or grammatical mistakes. It is recommended that you prepare your evidence and examples for the Experience and Achievements sections in Microsoft Word initially as there is a character limit of 4,000 per section and there are three sections available.
