Geotechnical Engineer

Location: County Hall, Preston

 

About the role

We are recruiting for a Geotechnical Engineer to play a key role in an exciting programme of major infrastructure development and urban regeneration across central Lancashire.

 

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work on a wide range of schemes including major highway improvements, design and construction of new roads and also renewal or modification of a large property portfolio.  In addition, there is ongoing maintenance of highway and property infrastructure.

 

In your role you will work with colleagues and assist Senior Engineers to deliver projects. You will be specifying and procuring the geotechnical investigations and providing technical solutions and advice for a wide range of property, highway structures and highway design projects.  You should have a good knowledge of current standards relating to site investigation, geotechnical design, highway design, building/structure foundations and geotechnical construction methods, including a thorough understanding of health and safety requirements. You will be required to write technical reports in different formats, making clear and concise recommendations for various scenarios.

 

Knowledge of contamination issues and contamination risk assessments would be desirable.
