A fantastic opportunity has arisen within Lancashire County Council's Estates Team, as it is looking to appoint an Assistant Estate Surveyor.


The successful candidate will be either a Chartered Surveyors (MRICS/FRICS) or actively working towards qualification as a chartered surveyor with experience in delivering a commercially effective professional estates and valuation service to the County Council and its clients in either/both an urban/rural context.

The position will require you to have the use of a car in connection with the duties of this post and it must be insured for business use. However, consideration will be given if you cannot drive due to a disability.

Lancashire County Council Estates Service undertake a wide range of services for the County Council and offer a range of duties that make the roles varied and interesting.


The Service is separated into three teams:

Management Team • Undertaking all aspects of estates management for the County Councils large service portfolio (including business parks in Leyland and Lancaster)
Disposals Team • The sale of surplus land and buildings.
Transport Team • Working on major transport schemes, involving the acquisition/compulsory purchase of property interests.


The role may include supporting projects such as acquisitions, disposals, compulsory purchase orders, support with major capital and highway Schemes, valuations, Leases, Rating work, as well as support at our commercial business parks.
