Starting Salary £17391 Per annum | Fixed Term 6 months Part Time, 18.5 hours per week I                  

About the role

The Fostering & Adoption Service embraces and supports the priorities and values of the Children and Young People's Plan and the Children Looked After Strategy managing the short and long term care arrangements for children in Lancashire. 


The service recruits, trains and assesses a diverse range of prospective foster and adoption carers; carefully matching and placing children with approved carers who can meet their individual needs. Ongoing training and support is provided for approved foster and adopter carers to enable them to develop their skills to successfully maintain placements.


Over the coming year the service will be developing our regional adoption agency in response to the Government's adoption reform agenda


We have a number of posts across the service supporting various teams. 

Key Accountabilities 

The Placement with Family and Friends (PWFF) Business Support Team is crucial in providing business support to the fostering and adoption service.


As Business Support Officer to the PWFF team you will;


• Provide support to the PWFF Managers, Social Workers & Support Workers

• Complete Registration of Interest Packs

• Record on SU files

• Ensure files are compliant

• Ensure statutory checks are processed in a set timeframe

• Monitor the team mailboxes

• Maintain tracking documents.

• Deal with all enquiries relating to the Service, assist and advise accordingly.

Skills & Experience

• Be able to work with confidential and sensitive information   

• Have good interpersonal skills and be able to build good working relationships with internal and external contacts

• Be able to work flexibly

• Have good IT skills

• Ability to work accurately under pressure

• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

This position is part time, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent, the salary received will be paid on a pro–rata basis.
