The Family Group Conference (FGC) service is recruiting two BSO's on temporary contracts, one for 22months the other for 18 months.  Business support will be at the hub of this busy team and will support the administration requirements of the team and service. General tasks to be undertaken  includes supporting team meetings, taking the minutes and data performance collating. The posts supports an agile team which covers the whole of Lancashire.

Lancashire County Council Family Group Conference Service works in partnership with families, who are facing difficult situations and/or decisions that need addressing, regarding the wellbeing, care and safeguarding of their children and young people.

The aim of a family group conference is to give families and their children/young people a central role in decision making.  Every family is unique with its own culture, personalities, personal dynamics and history. All families come up against problems from time to time and these can be sorted out with help from relatives and friends with support from appropriate services.

The decision makers at a family group conference are the family members/kinship network and not the professionals. Together they plan and decide how to resolve the situation. This empowers families to make the best plan possible for their children.

The post you are applying for is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013). If successful you will be required to apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for a 'disclosure'. Further information can be found on the 'Our Recruitment Process' tab.
