This is a key post in the School Improvement Service located within the Area South Pupil Access Team which is ordinarily based at County Hall, although the post itself is classed as agile working.

The Area South Team covers Preston, Chorley, South Ribble and West Lancashire and you will need to be prepared to travel to meetings primarily in schools throughout the area particularly during term time.

The Pupil Access Team delivers a number of services including admissions to schools, home to school transport eligibility, free school meal eligibility and advice and support to parents and schools on exclusions. 

In this post you will assume responsibility of overseeing and ensuring adherence to the requirements of the statutory Fair Access Protocols, facilitating managed moves between schools and operation of the district pupil placement panels.  

You will be required to lead on development of relationships and protocols in respect of effective working with schools and other educational and social care agencies.

The Pupil Access Team is a very busy team all year round and there is an expectation that the post holder will support the work of the wider team wherever possible.
