Location – Whalley Depot, BB7 9RW (but may be required to work at various Locations throughout Lancashire)  

We have an excellent opportunity for a Highways Operative - Supervisory Grade 6 post based at the Whalley Depot.

Lancashire Highways Service is responsible for the direct delivery of all highway related schemes across the County made up of 4300 miles of road, 151,000 streetlights and 2955 bridges.

We require an individual with extensive knowledge and experience of working on highway maintenance contracts.  With minimum guidance or instruction and working on their own initiative undertake specialised skilled activities. Taking a positive approach to work, agreeing and setting daily targets with their line manager, taking pride in quality work and completing work and tasks on time and within budget. Making recommendations for improvement through improved working methods and alternative equipment whilst ensuring that the team is compliant with health and safety and other regulations and legislation. The ability to use IT equipment and software will also be required.

You will be required to drive in connection with the duties of this post. However, we may consider you if you cannot drive because of a disability.

The post being advertised is permanent subject to a six-month probationary period being successfully completed.
