At Lancashire County Council we understand that social work can make for a challenging working day, but with that challenge comes the reward from making a difference to the lives of our children and young people.

Children's Social Workers within Lancashire work within a number of social care teams, including Assessment & Safeguarding, Children in Need, Child Protection/Court teams, Children in our Care, and Leaving Care in locations across the county. We'll give you the opportunity to work within specialist teams and develop your skills that allow you to achieve the very best.

We understand that the work is challenging but also very rewarding and we are committed to helping you achieve your own work/life balance. Through manageable caseloads and working in small teams that value you and your input, you'll be able to make a difference to children and young people's lives within Lancashire

We are committed to staff development at every level, giving you the opportunities and support to grow. We have recently launched our Social Work Academy to provide dedicated support to both newly qualified and experienced Social Workers new to Lancashire. The Academy is our framework for providing structured professional development and learning to staff in Children’s Services’ social work.

We'll support you to be the very best and that's why every Social Worker is supported by a Practice Manager who understands them and values the contribution that each and every team member brings to our service.
