Lancashire County Council's Children's Services North have a number of exciting Social Work and Senior Practitioner opportunities within its Fylde and Wyre Teams.

These opportunities have arisen as we are extending our current teams. Social Worker (Assessment, Safeguarding and Child in Need)
 

Are you motivated by the unknown? Do you seek energy from the speed and turn around of 'front door' social work? If so, then this could be the perfect position for you. Based within the Assessment and Safeguarding/Child in Need Team, Social Workers in this team are allocated children and young people from the start of their journey through services. Working as part of a busy team you will contribute to a duty system and work closely with your colleagues and partners to bring about change where it is needed most. Each Assessment, Safeguarding and Child in Need team structure consists of Social Workers, supported by Family Support Workers, a Senior Practitioner and a Practice Manager. Social Worker / Senior Practitioner (Child Protection and Court Team)

 

Are you motivated by seeing outcomes? Are you driven by driving plans forward for children and young people? Do you thrive working within the depth and complexity that Court work can bring? If so, then this could be the perfect position for you. Based within the Child Protection and Court Team, Social Workers in this team are allocated children and young people who have safeguarding plans and plans within the Family Courts. You will be responsible for progressing detailed outcome based plans and completing in-depth assessments. Each Child Protection and Court team structure consists of Social Workers, supported by Family Support Workers, a Senior Practitioner and a Practice Manager. Social Worker / Senior Practitioner (Children in our Care Team)
 

Are you motivated by achieving better outcomes for children looked after? Are you driven by improving standards for children looked after. Do you advocate for this group of children and believe that their 'cared for' experience needs to become better? Are you motivated by the ability to achieve permanence for children looked after? Are you ready to support some children's reunification to their birth families? Do you have a strong passion to commit to this area of social worker? If so, then this could be the perfect position for you. Based within the Children in our Care Team, Social Workers in this team are allocated children and young people who have longer term 'looked after' plans and who are often no longer able to live with their parents. You will be responsible for supporting children and young people who are looked after, be part of a permanence and improved corporate parenting agenda, and help progress young people's plans into independence.  Each Children in our Care Team structure consists of Social Workers, a Senior Practitioner and a Practice Manager. As a Senior Practitioner, you will have a minimum of two years post ASYE experience in statutory children's social work. The Senior Practitioner post will involve holding a small complex caseload whilst offering a supportive role to the wider team along with some supervisory roles also. 

 

Interviews are expected to be held week commencing 20/07/2020. These will be held in line with government advice.

 

The post you are applying for is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013). If successful you will be required to apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for a 'disclosure'. Further information can be found on the 'Our Recruitment Process' tab. 

 

You must be registered with Social Work England to be appointed ­­­to this role or have applied to register with the Social Care Council. For Social Worker/Care Manager positions where non social worker qualifications are accepted, registration is not required and you will be appointed as a Care Manager. 

 

You will be required to provide a car for use in connection with the duties of this post and must be insured for business use. However, we may consider you if you cannot drive because of a disability.
